Explanation of the name Al-Muhsi
Al-Muhsi is the One Who has enumerated (ahsa) all things by His knowledge, so that nothing minute escapes Him, nothing immense is beyond His power, and nothing occupies Him from anything else. He has counted the movements and the breaths of His creatures, every good deed they have done and every evil deed they have committed.

المحصي: هو الذي أحصى كل شيء بعلمه؛ فلا يفوته منها دقيق ولا يعجزة جليل، ولا يشغله شيء منها عما سواه.
أحصى حركات الخلق، وأنفاسهم وما عملوه من حسنة، واجترحوه من سيئة. كقوله [تعالى]: (ما لهذا الكتاب لا يغادر صغيرة ولا كبيرة إلا أحصاها). وقال -[عز وجل] -: (أحصاه الله، ونسوه).
