Frequently asked questions
How do I create a greeting card?
Pick the occasion and a message (or write your own), type the person’s name and tap “Send the card”: your phone offers WhatsApp, Instagram or your messages. On a computer, download or copy the image.
Are the name and photo sent anywhere?
No. The card is drawn in your browser: the name, the text and your photo never leave your device.
How do I write a name in Arabic on the card?
Tick “Also write the names in Arabic” under “Customise the card”: the usual spelling is suggested for more than 300 names (and an automatic transcription for the others, to be checked). You can always correct it.
What does “Taqabbal Allahu minna wa minkum” mean?
“May Allah accept from us and from you”: the words the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ exchanged on Eid (reported with a good chain, according to Ibn Hajar). The reply is “minna wa minkum”.
Can you say “Jumuah Mubarak”?
Friday is a blessed day. Some scholars, such as Shaykh al-Fawzan, point out that exchanging greetings every Friday is not a Sunnah; others, such as the Islamweb fatwa centre, allow it from time to time as a simple dua, without making it an obligation. Our Friday cards therefore focus on duas, Surah al-Kahf and sending blessings on the Prophet ﷺ.
