By the wise Qur’ān,
Boy Arabic origin Ḥakīm
CompanionIn the Quran“Wise”, one who judges and acts with wisdom
The word as it is recited in the Quran: Mahmoud Khalil Al-Hussary, Ya-Sin 36:2.
The word ḥakīm occurs nearly a hundred times in the Quran, mostly to describe Allah, the Wise, and also the Quran itself (“By the Quran full of wisdom”, 36:2). The Companion Hakim ibn Hizam, Khadija’s nephew, reported from the Prophet ﷺ: “The upper hand is better than the lower hand” (al-Bukhari 1472).
Hakim comes from the root ḥ-k-m of judgement (ḥukm) and wisdom (ḥikma): it means the wise man, who knows and does everything soundly, and also the arbiter. Al-Hakim is one of the names of Allah; borne by a man, the word keeps its human sense, like ʿAli or Karim. In later usage ḥakīm also came to mean a physician.
Yes: the word Hakim appears in the Quran 97 times, in 42 surahs.

They said, "Exalted are You; we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, it is You who is the Knowing, the Wise."
Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from themselves who will recite to them Your verses and teach them the Book and wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise."
But if you slip [i.e., deviate] after clear proofs have come to you, then know that Allāh is Exalted in Might and Wise.
