Verse 5
1 look-alikeٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ ٥
The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation,
Similar verses (mutashabihat) of Surah Ar-Rahman
متشابهات سورة الرحمن
Of the 78 verses of Surah Ar-Rahman, 47 resemble other verses of the Quran, sometimes down to a single word. Each one is compared word by word with its look-alikes, with the differences highlighted, so you do not mix them up when reciting from memory.
Verse 11
1 look-alikeفِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٌ وَٱلنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ ٱلْأَكْمَامِ ١١
Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates]
لَهُمْ فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٌ وَلَهُم مَّا يَدَّعُونَ ٥٧
For them therein is fruit, and for them is whatever they request [or wish]
Verse 13

2 look-alikesخَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلْصَٰلٍ كَٱلْفَخَّارِ ١٤
He created man from clay like [that of] pottery.
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلْصَٰلٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ ٢٦
And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud.
Verse 15
1 look-alikeوَخَلَقَ ٱلْجَآنَّ مِن مَّارِجٍ مِّن نَّارٍ ١٥
And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.
وَٱلْجَآنَّ خَلَقْنَٰهُ مِن قَبْلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ ٢٧
And the jinn We created before from scorching fire.
Verse 24
1 look-alikeوَلَهُ ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْمُنشَـَٔاتُ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ كَٱلْأَعْلَٰمِ ٢٤
And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains.
وَمِنْ ءَايَٰتِهِ ٱلْجَوَارِ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ كَٱلْأَعْلَٰمِ ٣٢
And of His signs are the ships in the sea, like mountains.
Verse 27
1 look-alikeوَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلْجَلَٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ ٢٧
And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.
تَبَٰرَكَ ٱسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِى ٱلْجَلَٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ ٧٨
Blessed is the name of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.
Verse 39
1 look-alikeفَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُسْـَٔلُ عَن ذَنۢبِهِۦٓ إِنسٌ وَلَا جَآنٌّ ٣٩
Then on that Day none will be asked about his sin among men or jinn.
لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ ٧٤
Untouched before them by man or jinnī -
Verse 43
1 look-alikeهَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ ٤٣
This is Hell, which the criminals deny.
هَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ ٦٣
This is the Hellfire which you were promised.
Verse 46
1 look-alikeوَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ ٤٦
But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens -
وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ ٤٠
But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination,
Verse 50
1 look-alikeVerse 52
1 look-alikeفِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ ٥٢
In both of them are of every fruit, two kinds.
فِيهِمَا فَٰكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ ٦٨
In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates.
Verse 56
1 look-alikeفِيهِنَّ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ ٥٦
In them are women limiting [their] glances, untouched before them by man or jinnī -
لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ ٧٤
Untouched before them by man or jinnī -
