Verse 7
1 look-alikeكَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلْفُجَّارِ لَفِى سِجِّينٍ ٧
No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen.
كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلْأَبْرَارِ لَفِى عِلِّيِّينَ ١٨
No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in ʿilliyyūn.
Similar verses (mutashabihat) of Surah Al-Mutaffifin
متشابهات سورة المطففين
Of the 36 verses of Surah Al-Mutaffifin, 16 resemble other verses of the Quran, sometimes down to a single word. Each one is compared word by word with its look-alikes, with the differences highlighted, so you do not mix them up when reciting from memory.
Verse 8
11 look-alikesوَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحَآقَّةُ ٣
And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality?
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ ٣
And what can make you know what is the Striking Calamity?

And what can make you know what is [breaking through] the difficult pass?
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحُطَمَةُ ٥

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ ١٧
And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ ١٩
And what can make you know what is ʿilliyyūn?
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ١٤
And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement?
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ ٢
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
Verse 9
repeated 2 timesكِتَٰبٌ مَّرْقُومٌ ٩
It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed.
The same verse occurs 2 times in the surah: 83:20
Verse 10
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ١٠
Woe, that Day, to the deniers,

Verse 11
2 look-alikesوَٱلَّذِينَ يُصَدِّقُونَ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ ٢٦
And those who believe in the Day of Recompense
وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ ٤٦
And we used to deny the Day of Recompense
Verse 13
2 look-alikesإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ١٣
When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."
Word for word elsewhere: Al-Qalam 68:15
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالُوا۟ قَدْ سَمِعْنَا لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَقُلْنَا مِثْلَ هَٰذَآ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ٣١
And when Our verses are recited to them, they say, "We have heard. If we willed, we could say [something] like this. This is not but legends of the former peoples."
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٍ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ هَٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ ٧
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them, "This is obvious magic."
Verse 17
2 look-alikesثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ١٧
Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny."
هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ٢١
[They will be told], "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny."
ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ٢٩
[They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny.
Verse 18
1 look-alikeكَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلْأَبْرَارِ لَفِى عِلِّيِّينَ ١٨
No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in ʿilliyyūn.
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ ١٣
Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure,
Al-Infitar 82:13 also 83:22
Verse 19
10 look-alikesوَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ ١٩
And what can make you know what is ʿilliyyūn?
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحَآقَّةُ ٣

Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure

إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا ٥
Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kāfūr,
Verse 23
repeated 2 timesعَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ ٢٣
On adorned couches, observing.

Verse 28
1 look-alikeعَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ ٢٨
A spring from which those near [to Allāh] drink.
عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ ٱللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًا ٦
A spring of which the [righteous] servants of Allāh will drink; they will make it gush forth in force [and abundance].
Verse 29
1 look-alikeإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ كَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يَضْحَكُونَ ٢٩
Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed.
فَٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ ٣٤
So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers,
