Indeed, I have beautified the nearest of the heavens to the earth with a beautiful decoration: the stars that are like sparkling jewels to the eyesight.
We have adorned the sky with the beauty of the stars,
Verily We have adorned the near heaven with the stars (for beauty).2
[2] (V.37:6) See the footnote of (V.6:97).
Lo! We have adorned the lowest heaven with an ornament, the planets;
We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,-
Surely We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment, the stars,
Surely We have adorned the lowest heaven with an adornment, the planets,
And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with lamps [i.e., stars] and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze.
So I swear by the Lord of [all] risings and settings that indeed We are able
[He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets.
And We have placed within the heaven great stars and have beautified it for the observers. …
And intercession does not benefit with Him except for one whom He permits. [And those wait] until, when terror is removed from their hearts, they will say [to one another], "What has your Lord said?" They will say, "The truth." And He is the Most High, the Grand.
