Similar verses (mutashabihat) of Surah An-Naba
متشابهات سورة النبإ
Of the 40 verses of Surah An-Naba, 9 resemble other verses of the Quran, sometimes down to a single word. Each one is compared word by word with its look-alikes, with the differences highlighted, so you do not mix them up when reciting from memory.
Verse 6
1 look-alikeVerse 17
1 look-alikeإِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَٰتًا ١٧
Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time -
إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ مِيقَٰتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ٤٠
Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all -
Verse 18
2 look-alikesيَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًا ١٨
The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes
يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ وَنَحْشُرُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ يَوْمَئِذٍ زُرْقًا ١٠٢
The Day the Horn will be blown. And We will gather the criminals, that Day, blue-eyed.
وَيَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَفَزِعَ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا مَن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ وَكُلٌّ أَتَوْهُ دَٰخِرِينَ ٨٧
And [warn of] the Day the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified except whom Allāh wills. And all will come to Him humbled.
Verse 31
1 look-alikeإِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ٣٤
Indeed, for the righteous with their Lord are the Gardens of Pleasure.
Verse 35
2 look-alikesلَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا كِذَّٰبًا ٣٥
No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood -
لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا ٢٥
They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin -
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا إِلَّا سَلَٰمًا وَلَهُمْ رِزْقُهُمْ فِيهَا بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا ٦٢
They will not hear therein any ill speech - only [greetings of] peace - and they will have their provision therein, morning and afternoon.
Verse 37
4 look-alikesرَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا ٣٧
[From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech.
رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْغَفَّٰرُ ٦٦
Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver."
رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ ٧
Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them, if you would be certain.
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ ٥
Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises.
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ ٢٤
[Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced."
Verse 39
1 look-alikeذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلْحَقُّ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا ٣٩
That is the True [i.e., certain] Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return.
إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًا ١٩
Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take to his Lord a way.
