Like most Arab and Islamic countries, the Joy of Eid Al Fitr in the UAE starts on the eve of the Eid, after the official announcement of the date specified for this important religious occasion. In the morning of the Eid, the Emiratis head to the mosques for the Eid prayer.
After that, the greetings and the congratulations take place in an atmosphere of affection and love. It is also noticed to see visits between the families and parents across the different regions of the country. Also, the streets and the bridges are distinguished by their decoration and their twinkling lights which creates a beautiful scene. Also, Pastry shops and flower shops experience a period of high demand over their products.
In addition to that, several cities and regions see large festivals for the benefit of the various categories of the society, especially kids, who meet cartoon characters that offer free performances throughout the Eid day.
In this regard, the Emirati families distribute presents to children in the hope of making them happy. The poor and the needy also obtain their share of love and attention, as they receive financial and moral help, especially from the rich citizens.
In order to determine the first day of Eid in the UAE, a special committee, chaired by the Minister of Justice is in charge. They gather the night of doubt to observe the Helal and they issue a statement concerning the date of the Eid after “Al Maghreb” prayer of the 29th of Ramadan.
According to forecasts, it is expected that the Eid of the 2023/1444 in the UAE will correspond to the 21 April 2023 with one day of difference.
