Surahs to recite after every prayer

1. Al-Mu’awwidhat: Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas

   Listen to these verses

   Al-Ikhlas112:1

   قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ۝١

   Say, "He is Allāh, [who is] One,

   Al-Ikhlas112:2

   ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ ۝٢

   Allāh, the Eternal Refuge.

   Al-Ikhlas112:3

   لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ ۝٣

   He neither begets nor is born,

   Al-Ikhlas112:4

   وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌۢ ۝٤

   Nor is there to Him any equivalent."

   Al-Falaq113:1

   قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْفَلَقِ ۝١

   Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak

   Al-Falaq113:2

   مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ۝٢

   From the evil of that which He created

   Al-Falaq113:3

   وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ۝٣

   And from the evil of darkness when it settles

   Al-Falaq113:4

   وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّٰثَٰتِ فِى ٱلْعُقَدِ ۝٤

   And from the evil of the blowers in knots

   Al-Falaq113:5

   وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ۝٥

   And from the evil of an envier when he envies."

   An-Nas114:1

   قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ ۝١

   Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,

   An-Nas114:2

   مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ ۝٢

   The Sovereign of mankind,

   An-Nas114:3

   إِلَٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ ۝٣

   The God of mankind,

   An-Nas114:4

   مِن شَرِّ ٱلْوَسْوَاسِ ٱلْخَنَّاسِ ۝٤

   From the evil of the retreating whisperer -

   An-Nas114:5

   ٱلَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ ۝٥

   Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind -

   An-Nas114:6

   مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ ۝٦

   From among the jinn and mankind."

   What the Sunnah reports

   Authentic Jami' at-Tirmidhi 2903

   "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ordered me to recite Al-Mu'awwidhatain at the end of every Salat."

   أَنْ أَقْرَأَ بِالْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلاَةٍ ‏.‏

   Narrated by Uqbah ibn ‘Āmir

   Authentic Sunan an-Nasa'i 1336

   "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded me to recite Al-Mu'awwidhat following every prayer."

   أَنْ أَقْرَأَ الْمُعَوِّذَاتِ دُبُرَ كُلِّ صَلاَةٍ ‏.‏

   Narrated by Uqbah ibn ‘Āmir

   Differing grades Sunan Abu Dawud 1523

   The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded me to recite Mu'awwidhatan (the last three surahs of the Qur'an) after every prayer.

   أَنْ أَقْرَأَ بِالْمُعَوِّذَاتِ دُبُرَ كُلِّ صَلاَةٍ ‏.‏
