Meaning of the name Ridwan
Ridwan is an intensive verbal noun of radiya, “to be satisfied”: it is full and complete approval, and in the Quran that of Allah towards His servants. Popular tradition gives this name to the angel guarding Paradise, on the basis of reports of disputed authenticity. A widespread masculine name: Redouane in the Maghreb, Rizwan in South Asia, Rıdvan in Turkey.
