Tafsir of verse 29

Al-Mukhtasar

Thus the incident of the destruction of his people was simply one blast which we sent upon them and they fell down with nothing remaining. Their example is like that of a fire that was burning and then was extinguished, leaving behind no trace.

Tafsir of the whole Surah Ya-Sin

Other translations of verse 29

It was no more than a single blast, and immediately they were extinguished.

It was but one Saihah (shout) and lo! they (all) were still (silent, dead, destroyed).

It was but one Shout, and lo! they were extinct.

It was no more than a single mighty Blast, and behold! they were (like ashes) quenched and silent.

It was naught but a single cry, and lo! they were still.

Decidedly it was nothing except one Shout; then, only then, were they (utterly) extinct.
