Tafsir of verse 12
Al-Mukhtasar
O Muhammad! You are amazed at the power of Allah and His management of the affairs of His creation; you are astonished at the idolaters rejecting the resurrection. While these idolaters mock at what you say regarding the resurrection, due to their extreme denial of it.
Other translations of verse 12
Rather you are astonished, while they ridicule it,
Nay, you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) wondered (at their insolence) while they mock (at you and at the Qur’ân).
Nay, but thou dost marvel when they mock
Truly dost thou marvel, while they ridicule,
Nay! you wonder while they mock,
No indeed, you wonder, and they scoff,
