سورة الذاريات، الآية ٣٧
وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَةً لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ ٣٧
wataraknā fīhā āyatan lilladhīna yakhāfūna l-ʿadhāba l-alīma
And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment.

And I left in the city of Lot signs of punishment which will show that punishment befell them, so that those who fear the painful punishment which afflicted them take lessons from it and then not do what they did
And We left there a sign9 for those who fear the painful punishment.
[9] i.e., the ruins of Sodom or the Dead Sea in Palestine, as a lesson for people.
And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea5 in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment.

And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom.
And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty.
And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment.
And We have left in it a sign to the ones who fear the painful torment.
