And they request from you, [O Muḥammad], a [legal] ruling concerning women. Say, "Allāh gives you a ruling about them and [about] what has been recited to you in the Book concerning the orphan girls to whom you do not give what is decreed for them - and [yet] you desire to marry them - and concerning the oppressed among children and that you maintain for orphans [their rights] in justice." At-Tawbah9:120

It was not [proper] for the people of Madīnah and those surrounding them of the bedouins that they remain behind after [the departure of] the Messenger of Allāh or that they prefer themselves over his self. That is because they are not afflicted by thirst or fatigue or hunger in the cause of Allāh, nor do they tread on any ground that enrages the disbelievers, nor do they inflict upon an enemy any infliction but that it is registered for them as a righteous deed. Indeed, Allāh does not allow to be lost the reward of the doers of good.

Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us [one] better than it. Indeed, we are toward our Lord desirous."

Why do the numbers differ from one website to another?

  • Some count the root (every word built on it), others a single word, others the exact form as written in the Mushaf: all three numbers are given here.
  • Prefixes and suffixes (و، ب، ال…) are taken into account; a search on the raw text may miss some, or count words from another root that are spelled the same way.
  • The counts follow the Hafs reading and the grammatical analysis of each of the 77,429 words of the Quran.

Results are ranked automatically: only texts of the Quran and translations of their meaning are shown, with no machine-written text. For a legal opinion, consult a scholar.
