The Prophet ﷺ said: “The most beloved of your names to Allah are ʿAbd Allah and ʿAbd al-Rahman” (Muslim 2132), and scholars add to them all names formed on a name of Allah. The name al-Khaliq occurs 6 times in the Quran; its page in the 99 Names section gives its meaning and verses.
ʿAbd al-Khaliq joins ʿabd with al-Khaliq, from the root kh-l-q of creation and right measure: the One who creates all things and determines them by His wisdom. Al-Khaliq is one of the names fitting Allah alone; that is why the name is always given as ʿAbd al-Khaliq. It is written Abdelkhalek in the Maghreb.
He is Allāh, the Creator, the Producer, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
