The Prophet ﷺ said: “The most beloved of your names to Allah are ʿAbd Allah and ʿAbd al-Rahman” (Muslim 2132), and scholars add to them all names formed on a name of Allah. The name al-Bariʾ occurs 2 times in the Quran; its page in the 99 Names section gives its meaning and verses.
ʿAbd al-Bariʾ joins ʿabd with al-Bariʾ, from the root b-r-ʾ: the One who brings creatures into being without a prior model and distinguishes them from one another. The Quran names Him between al-Khaliq and al-Musawwir, “the Creator, the Originator, the Fashioner” (59:24). A fairly rare name, mostly given in South Asia and the Middle East.
He is Allāh, the Creator, the Producer, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
And [recall] when Moses said to his people, "O my people, indeed you have wronged yourselves by your taking of the calf [for worship]. So repent to your Creator and kill yourselves [i.e., the guilty among you]. That is best for [all of] you in the sight of your Creator." Then He accepted your repentance; indeed, He is the Accepting of Repentance, the Merciful.
