حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ امْرَأَةً، تَسْأَلُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ إِحْدَانَا بِثَوْبِهَا إِذَا رَأَتِ الطُّهْرَ أَتُصَلِّي فِيهِ قَالَ ‏"‏

تَنْظُرُ فَإِنْ رَأَتْ فِيهِ دَمًا فَلْتَقْرُصْهُ بِشَىْءٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ وَلْتَنْضَحْ مَا لَمْ تَرَ وَلْتُصَلِّ فِيهِ ‏"

Asma' daughter of Abu Bakr said:

I heard a woman asking the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): What should any of us to with her clothe (in which she menstruated) when she becomes purified ? Can she pray in that (clothe) ? He said: She should see; if she finds blood in it, she should scratch it with some water and (in case of doubt) sprinkle upon it (some water) and pray so long as she does not find (any blood).

Reported by Abu Dawud (No. 360).

Al-Azimabadi — Awn al-Ma'bud

( قَالَ تَنْظُر ) : أَيْ الْمَرْأَة فِي ثَوْبهَا ( فَلْتَقْرُصْهُ ) : بِضَمِّ الرَّاء وَتَخْفِيفهمَا رَوَاهُ يَحْيَى الرَّاوِي عَنْ مَالِك وَالْأَكْثَرُونَ. وَرَوَاهُ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ بِكَسْرِ الرَّاء وَتَشْدِيدهَا. وَذَكَرَ الشَّيْخ وَلِيّ الدِّين الْعِرَاقِيّ أَنَّ الرِّوَايَة الْأُولَى أَشْهَر وَأَنَّهُ بِالصَّادِ الْمُهْمَلَة عَلَى الرِّوَايَتَيْنِ وَالْمَعْنَى أَيْ تُدَلِّك مَوْضِع الدَّم بِأَطْرَافِ أَصَابِعهَا لِيَتَحَلَّل بِذَلِكَ وَيُخْرِج مَا تَشَرَبهُ الثَّوْب مِنْهُ ( وَلْتَنْضَحْ ) : بِلَامِ الْأَمْر أَيْ وَلْتَرُشَّ الْمَرْأَة ( مَا لَمْ تَرَ ) : أَيْ الْمَوْضِع الَّذِي لَمْ تَرَ فِيهِ أَثَر الدَّم وَلَكِنْ شَكَّتْ فِيهِ , وَلَفْظ الدَّارِمِيِّ مِنْ طَرِيق اِبْن إِسْحَاق " إِنْ ر…

إِذَا أَصَابَ إِحْدَاكُنَّ الدَّمُ مِنَ الْحَيْضِ فَلْتَقْرِصْهُ ثُمَّ لْتَنْضَحْهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ لْتُصَلِّي ‏"

Authentic Sunan Abu Dawud 363

I asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about the blood of menstruation on the clothe. He said: Erase it off with a piece of wood and then wash it away with water and the leaves of the lote-tree.

حُكِّيهِ بِضِلْعٍ وَاغْسِلِيهِ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ ‏"

Authentic Sunan Ibn Majah 628

"I asked the Messenger of Allah about menstrual blood that gets on clothing. He said, 'Wash it with water and lote leaves, and rub it, even with a piece of stick.'"

"‏ اغْسِلِيهِ بِالْمَاءِ وَالسِّدْرِ وَحُكِّيهِ وَلَوْ بِضِلَعٍ ‏"

Narrated by Umm Qays

Authentic Sunan Ibn Majah 629

"The Messenger of Allah was asked about menstrual blood that gets on clothing. He said: 'Rub it off, wash it and perform prayer in (the garment).'"

Authentic Sunan an-Nasa'i 293
