حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

اعْتَمَرَ فَطَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَصَلَّى خَلْفَ الْمَقَامِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَمَعَهُ مَنْ يَسْتُرُهُ مِنَ النَّاسِ

‘Abd Allaah bin Abi Aufa said the Apostle of Allaah(ﷺ) performed ‘Umrah and went round the House(the Ka’bah) and prayed behind the station (Maqam Ibrahim) two rak’ahs and he was accompanied by so many people that he was hidden by them. ‘Abd Allaah bin Abi Aufa was asked Did the Apostle of Allaah(ﷺ) enter the Ka’bah ? He replied “No”.

( اِعْتَمَرَ ) : أَيْ فِي سَنَة سَبْع عَام الْقَضِيَّة ( أَدَخَلَ رَسُول اللَّه صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْكَعْبَة ) : الْهَمْزَة لِلِاسْتِفْهَامِ أَيْ فِي تِلْكَ الْعُمْرَة ( قَالَ لَا ) : قَالَ النَّوَوِيّ : سَبَب تَرْك دُخُوله مَا كَانَ فِي الْبَيْت مِنْ الْأَصْنَام وَالصُّوَر , وَلَمْ يَكُنْ الْمُشْرِكُونَ يَتْرُكُونَهُ لِيُغَيِّرهَا , فَلَمَّا كَانَ فِي الْفَتْح أَمَرَ بِإِزَالَةِ الصُّورَة ثُمَّ دَخَلَهَا يَعْنِي كَمَا فِي حَدِيث اِبْن عَبَّاس الَّذِي عِنْد مُسْلِم وَغَيْره اِنْتَهَى , وَيُحْتَمَل أَنْ يَكُون دُخُول الْبَيْت لَمْ يَقَع فِي الشَّرْط فَلَوْ أَرَادَ دُخُوله لَمَنَعُوهُ كَمَا مُنِعَ مِنْ الْإِقَامَة بِمَكَّة زِيَادَة عَلَى الثَّلَاث , فَلَمْ يَقْصِد دُخُوله لِئَلَ…

When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) performed the `Umra (which he performed in the year following the treaty of Al-Hudaibiya) we were screening Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) from the infidels and their boys lest they should harm him.
