Narrator:Abdullāh ibn Abi Awfa

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم حِينَ

اعْتَمَرَ فَطَافَ فَطُفْنَا مَعَهُ، وَصَلَّى وَصَلَّيْنَا مَعَهُ، وَسَعَى بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ، فَكُنَّا نَسْتُرُهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ، لاَ يُصِيبُهُ أَحَدٌ بِشَىْءٍ‏.‏

Narrated `Abdullah bin Abi `Aufa:

We were in the company of the Prophet (ﷺ) when he performed the `Umra. He performed the Tawaf and we did the same; he offered the prayer and we also offered the prayer with him. Then he performed the Sai between Safa and Marwa and we were guarding him against the people of Mecca so that nobody should harm him.

Explanation in Arabic

روى عبد الله بن أبي أوفى رضي الله عنهما أنهم كانوا مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم حين اعتمر عمرة القضاء، في السنة السابعة من الهجرة، فطاف عليه الصلاة والسلام طواف العمرة، وطاف أصحابه معه، وصلى ركعتي الطواف وصلى أصحابه معه، ثم سعى بين الصفا والمروة وسعوا معه، وكانوا يلتفون حوله ويحيطون به؛ لئلا يؤذيه أحد من أهل مكة.

قَوْله : ( حَدَّثَتَا اِبْن نُمَيْر ) هُوَ مُحَمَّد بْن عَبْد اللَّه بْن نُمَيْر. قَوْله : ( حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى ) هُوَ اِبْن عُبَيْد , وَإِسْمَاعِيل هُوَ اِبْن أَبِي خَالِد. قَوْله : ( لَا يُصِيبهُ أَحَد بِشَيْء ) أَيْ لِئَلَّا يُصِيبهُ , وَهَذَا كَانَ فِي عُمْرَةِ الْقَضَاءِ وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ أَنَّ عَبْد اللَّه بْن أَبِي أَوْفَى كَانَ مِمَّنْ بَايَعَ تَحْت الشَّجَرَة وَهُوَ فِي عُمْرَة الْحُدَيْبِيَة , وَكُلّ مَنْ شَهِدَ الْحُدَيْبِيَة وَعَاشَ إِلَى السَّنَة الْمُقْبِلَة خَرَجَ مَعَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُعْتَمِرًا فِي عُمْرَة الْقَضَاء.…

“I heard ‘Abdullah bin Abu Awfa say: ‘We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he performed ‘Umrah. He performed Tawaf (around the Ka’bah) and we performed Tawaf with him. He prayed and we prayed with him, and we were shielding him from the people of Makkah lest anyone harm him.’”

فَطَافَ وَطُفْنَا مَعَهُ وَصَلَّى وَصَلَّيْنَا مَعَهُ وَكُنَّا نَسْتُرُهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ لاَ يُصِيبُهُ أَحَدٌ بِشَىْءٍ ‏.‏
