It is not for a human [prophet] that Allāh should give him the Scripture and authority and prophethood and then he would say to the people, "Be servants to me rather than Allāh," but [instead, he would say], "Be pious scholars of the Lord because of what you have taught of the Scripture and because of what you have studied."
And thus do We diversify the verses so they [i.e., the disbelievers] will say, "You have studied," and so We may make it [i.e., the Qur’ān] clear for a people who know.
And there followed them successors who inherited the Scripture [while] taking the commodities of this lower life and saying, "It will be forgiven for us." And if an offer like it comes to them, they will [again] take it. Was not the covenant of the Scripture [i.e., the Torah] taken from them that they would not say about Allāh except the truth, and they studied what was in it? And the home of the Hereafter is better for those who fear Allāh, so will you not use reason?
Why do the numbers differ from one website to another?
Some count the root (every word built on it), others a single word, others the exact form as written in the Mushaf: all three numbers are given here.
Prefixes and suffixes (و، ب، ال…) are taken into account; a search on the raw text may miss some, or count words from another root that are spelled the same way.
The counts follow the Hafs reading and the grammatical analysis of each of the 77,429 words of the Quran.
Results are ranked automatically: only texts of the Quran and translations of their meaning are shown, with no machine-written text. For a legal opinion, consult a scholar.
