وَٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ كُلَّ بَنَّآءٍ وَغَوَّاصٍ ۝٣٧

wal-shayāṭīna kulla bannāin waghawwāṣin

Al-Mukhtasar

And I made the satans subservient to him, complying with his orders. Some of them were builders and others were divers who would dive into the seas and take out pearls from them.

And [We subjected to him] the devils, all kinds of builders and divers¹⁶,

Notes

[16] They dived to bring him pearls.

And also the Shayâtîn (devils) from the jinn (including) every kind of builder and diver,

And the unruly, every builder and diver (made We subservient),

As also the evil ones, (including) every kind of builder and diver,-

And the shaitans, every builder and diver,

And Ash-Shayatin, (The ever-vicious "one", i.e., the Devils) every skilled builder, and (expert) diver.
