And if they deny you - then already have those before them denied. Their messengers came to them with clear proofs and written ordinances and with the enlightening Scripture.

Tafsir of verse 25
Al-Mukhtasar
And if your people deny you, O Messenger, be patient, because you are not the first Messenger whose people denied him, as the nations before them denied their messengers, such as Aad, Thamud and the people of Lot. Their messengers came to them with clear evidences and overwhelming miracles which prove their truthfulness, and their messengers came to them with scrolls and with the Scripture which is enlightening for one who ponders over it and contemplates it.
If they reject you, so did those who came before them. Their messengers came to them with clear proofs, divine scriptures12, and an enlightening Book13.
Notes
[12] i.e., the Torah, the Gospel, and the Psalms.
[13] i.e., the Qur’an.
And if they belie you, those before them also belied. Their Messengers came to them with clear signs, and with the Scriptures, and the book giving light.
And if they deny thee, those before them also denied. Their messengers came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), and with the Psalms and the Scripture giving light.
And if they reject thee, so did their predecessors, to whom came their messengers with Clear Signs, Books of dark prophecies, and the Book of Enlightenment.
And if they call you a liar, so did those before them indeed call (their messengers) liars; their messengers had come to them with clear arguments, and with scriptures, and with the illuminating book.
And in case they cry you lies, then (the ones) even before them already cried lies; their Messengers came to them with the supreme evidence (s), and the Scriptures (Zubur, sometimes understood to mean the Psalms) and the Supreme Enlightening Book.
Those who associated [others] with Allāh will say, "If Allāh had willed, we would not have associated [anything] and neither would our fathers, nor would we have prohibited anything." Likewise did those before deny until they tasted Our punishment. Say, "Do you have any knowledge that you can produce for us? You follow not except assumption, and you are not but misjudging."
Rather, they have denied that which they encompass not in knowledge and whose interpretation has not yet come to them. Thus did those before them deny. Then observe how was the end of the wrongdoers.
