قَالُوا۟ بَلْ جِئْنَٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ ۝٦٣

qālū bal ji'nāka bimā kānū fīhi yamtarūna

Al-Mukhtasar

The Messengers from the Angels said to Lot: Do not fear! We have brought to you - O Lot - the destructive punishment that your people have doubts about.

They said, “We have come to you with that [punishment]³⁰ which they have doubted.

[30] i.e., the divine punishment.

They said: "Nay, we have come to you with that (torment) which they have been doubting.

They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing,

They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt.

They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed.

They said, "No indeed, we have come to you with that about which they were wrangling;
