سورة الحجر، الآية ١٣
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ١٣
lā yu'minūna bihi waqad khalat sunnatu l-awalīna
They will not believe in it, while there has already occurred the precedent of the former peoples.

They do not believe in this Qur’ān that was revealed to Muhammad (peace be upon him). Allah’s custom in destroying those who bely their messengers has occurred before, so the beliers should take that into consideration.
They will not believe in it, although the examples of the earlier people are well established.
They would not believe in it (the Qur’ân); and already the example of (Allâh’s punishment of) the ancients (who disbelieved) has gone forth.
They believe not therein, though the example of the men of old hath gone before.
That they should not believe in the (Message); but the ways of the ancients have passed away.

They do not believe in it; (The Message) and the enactment (The reward for good and evil) (for) the earliest (people) has already passed away.
