Tafsir of verse 34
Al-Mukhtasar
I will send a punishment from the sky down on the people of this town that used to do obscene acts, which is stones of baked clay, as a punishment for their leaving out following Allah by the perpetration of that evil and immoral act, which was satisfaction of lust with men instead of women.
We will surely send down on the people of this town a scourge from heaven because of their evildoing.”
"Verily, we are about to bring down on the people of this town a great torment from the sky, because they have been rebellious (against Allâh’s Command)."
Lo! We are about to bring down upon the folk of this township a fury from the sky because they are evil-livers.
"For we are going to bring down on the people of this township a Punishment from heaven, because they have been wickedly rebellious."
Surely We will cause to come down upon the people of this town a punishment from heaven, because they transgressed.
Surely we will send down upon the population of this town a chastisement from the heaven for that they have been acting immorally."
But those who wronged changed [those words] to a statement other than that which had been said to them, so We sent down upon those who wronged a punishment [i.e., plague] from the sky because they were defiantly disobeying.
But those who wronged among them changed [the words] to a statement other than that which had been said to them. So We sent upon them a punishment from the sky for the wrong that they were doing.
