Tafsir of verse 197

Al-Mukhtasar

This world is a brief enjoyment that does not last. The destination they will return to on the Day of Judgement will be Hell – what a terrible resting place the fire of Hell is for them!

Tafsir of the whole Surah Ali ’Imran

Other translations of verse 197

it is a brief enjoyment, then Hell will be their abode. What a terrible resting place!

A brief enjoyment; then, their ultimate abode is Hell; and worst indeed is that place for rest.

It is but a brief comfort. And afterward their habitation will be hell, an ill abode.

Little is it for enjoyment: Their ultimate abode is Hell: what an evil bed (To lie on)!

A brief enjoyment! then their abode is hell, and evil is the resting-place.

A little enjoyment, thereafter their abode will be Hell, and miserable is the restingplace!
