Chapter: Ahadith about Dajjal and Portents of the Hour

-وعن أم شريك رضي الله عنها أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أمرها بقتل الأوزاغ وقال: “كان ينفخ على إبراهيم" ((متفق عليه)).
Umm Sharīk (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered her to kill geckos and said: “They used to blow [the fire] on Ibrahīm."
Reported by Al-Bukhari (No. 3307) and Ibn Majah (No. 3228). Cited in Riyad as-Salihin (No. 1863).
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered to kill geckos, saying that they used to blow the fire on Ibrahīm to make it more intense. This implies that geckos are totally hostile towards devout monotheists.
أمر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بقتل الوزغ، وأخبر أنه كان ينفخ النار على إبراهيم من أجل أن يشتد لهبها؛ مما يدل على عداوته التامة لأهل التوحيد والإخلاص، وكل ما أُمر بقتله لم يجز أكله.

بِقَتْلِ الْوَزَغِ وَسَمَّاهُ فُوَيْسِقًا .
أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِ الْوَزَغِ وَقَالَ " كَانَ يَنْفُخُ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ "
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، قَالاَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، كَرِوَايَةِ يُونُسَ بِإِسْنَادِهِ .
أَنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لَمَّا أُلْقِيَ فِي النَّارِ لَمْ تَكُنْ فِي الأَرْضِ دَابَّةٌ إِلاَّ أَطْفَأَتِ النَّارَ غَيْرَ الْوَزَغِ فَإِنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَنْفُخُ عَلَيْهِ فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ…
