حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، أَوِ ابْنُ سَلاَمٍ عَنْهُ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أُمِّ شَرِيكٍ ـ رضى الله عنها أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِ الْوَزَغِ وَقَالَ ‏"‏ كَانَ يَنْفُخُ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ ‏"

Narrated Um Sharik:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ordered that the salamander should be killed and said, "It (i.e. the salamander) blew (the fire) on Abraham."

Explanation in Arabic

أمر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بقتل الوزغ، وبيّن أن سبب ذلك هو أنه كان ينفخ على إبراهيم عليه السلام النار عندما ألقاه قومه، وكل دابة في الأرض كانت تحاول أن تطفئ النار عنه إلا الوزغ، فجوزي بمشروعية قتله.

  • الأمر بقتل الوزغ، والظاهر أنه للوجوب قدر المستطاع.
  • بيان سبب قتل الوزغ.
  • الأمور القدرية لا يُعترض بها على الشرع، فالخلق خلق الله تعالى، والشرع شرعه، والحكمة التامة فيما خلقه وشرعه وقدَّره، وعلى العباد التسليم والامتثال.

قَوْلُهُ : ( حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْد اللَّه بْن مُوسَى أَوْ اِبْن سَلَام عَنْهُ ) كَأَنَّ الْبُخَارِيّ شَكَّ فِي سَمَاعه لَهُ مِنْ عُبَيْد اللَّه بْن مُوسَى - وَهُوَ مِنْ أَكْبَر مَشَايِخه - وَتَحَقَّقَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ مِنْ مُحَمَّد بْن سَلَام عَنْهُ فَأَوْرَدَهُ هَكَذَا , وَقَدْ وَقَعَ لَهُ نَظِير هَذَا فِي أَمَاكِن عَدِيدَة. قَوْلُهُ : ( عَنْ عَبْد الْحَمِيد بْن جُبَيْر ) هُوَ اِبْن شَيْبَة بْن عُثْمَان الْحَجَبِيّ , وَالْإِسْنَاد كُلّه حِجَازِيُّونَ مِنْ اِبْن جُرَيْجٍ فَصَاعِدًا , وَفِي رِوَايَة الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيّ مِنْ طَرِيق يَحْيَى الْقَطَّان وَأَبِي عَاصِم عَنْ اِبْن جُرَيْجٍ " أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْد الْحَمِيد ". قَوْلُهُ : ( أُمّ شَرِيك ) فِي رِوَايَة أَبِي عَاصِم " إِحْدَى نِسَاء بَنِي عَامِر…

Umm Sharik told that God’s messenger ordered geckos to be killed, saying the gecko blew on Abraham.1 1. Al-Qur’an 21:68 speaks of Abraham being put into a fire. In this tradition it is said that the gecko blew on the fire to stir it up. (Bukhari and Muslim.)

وَعَن أم شريك: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِ الْوَزَغِ وَقَالَ: «كَانَ يَنْفُخُ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيم»

Umm Sharīk (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered her to kill geckos and said: “They used to blow [the fire] on Ibrahīm."
