أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ، عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ، - يَعْنِي الْمُعَلِّمَ - عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى أُمِّ كَعْبٍ مَاتَتْ فِي نِفَاسِهَا

فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي الصَّلاَةِ فِي وَسَطِهَا ‏.‏

It was narrated that Samurah said:

"I offered the funeral prayer with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) for Umm Ka'b who had died during childbirth, and during the prayer, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood at her middle."

Al-Sindi — Hashiyat al-Sindi on Sunan al-Nasa'i

قَوْله ( فِي وَسَطهَا ) أَيْ فِي مُحَاذَاة وَسَطهَا بِفَتْحَتَيْنِ وَعُلِمَ مِنْهُ أَنَّ نِفَاسهَا لَا يَمْنَع الصَّلَاة عَلَيْهَا مَعَ أَنَّ الْمَيِّت كَالْإِمَامِ فَلَزِمَ مِنْهُ أَنَّ النُّفَسَاء طَاهِر وَالْمُؤْمِن لَا يَنْجَس وَالْحَدَث أَمْر تَعَبُّدِيّ وَاَللَّه تَعَالَى أَعْلَم.…

I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he prayed for a woman who had died in the state of delivery. He stood in front of her waist.
