Narrator:Ibn ‘Abbās

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ هَيَّاجٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏

"‏ إِذَا اخْتَلَفْتُمْ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَاجْعَلُوهُ سَبْعَةَ أَذْرُعٍ ‏"

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“When you dispute concerning a path, make it seven forearms length wide.' ”

Reported by Ibn Majah (No. 2339) and Ahmad (No. 2762).
