Narrator:Anas ibn Mālik

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو التَّيَّاحِ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏

اسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا، وَإِنِ اسْتُعْمِلَ حَبَشِيٌّ كَأَنَّ رَأْسَهُ زَبِيبَةٌ ‏"

Narrated Anas:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Listen and obey (your chief) even if an Ethiopian whose head is like a raisin were made your chief."

قَوْله : ( حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ) هُوَ الْقَطَّانُ. قَوْله : ( اِسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا ) ) أَيْ فِيمَا فِيهِ طَاعَةٌ لِلَّهِ. قَوْله : ( وَإِنْ اُسْتُعْمِلَ ) أَيْ جُعِلَ عَامِلًا , وَلِلْمُصَنِّفِ فِي الْأَحْكَام عَنْ مُسَدَّد عَنْ يَحْيَى " وَإِنْ اُسْتُعْمِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَبْد حَبَشِيّ " وَهُوَ أَصْرَحُ فِي مَقْصُود التَّرْجَمَة , وَذَكَرَهُ بَعْدَ بَاب مِنْ طَرِيق غُنْدَر عَنْ شُعْبَة بِلَفْظِ " قَالَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَبِي ذَرٍّ : اِسْمَعْ وَأَطِعْ " الْحَدِيثَ , وَقَدْ أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِم مِنْ طَرِيق غُنْدَر أَيْضًا لَكِنْ بِإِسْنَادٍ لَهُ آخَرَ عَنْ شُعْبَة عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجُونِيِّ عَنْ عَبْد اللَّه بْن الصَّامِت عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ " إِنَّ خَلِيلِي ص…

Listen and obey, even if an Abyssinian slave, whose head is like a raisin, was appointed a ruler over you

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Listen and obey, even if an Abyssinian slave, whose head is like a raisin, was appointed a ruler over you.”

اسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا وَإِنِ اسْتُعْمِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَبْدٌ حَبَشِيٌّ كَأَنَّ رَأْسَهُ زَبِيبَةٌ ‏"

Narrated by Anas ibn Mālik Explained

Authentic Mishkat al-Masabih 3663

Anas reported God’s Messenger as saying, “Listen and obey, even if an Abyssinian slave with a head like a raisin* is made governor over you.” Bukhari transmitted it. * This is said to refer to the head being small, or to the hair being crisp and curly, or short.

وَعَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «اسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا وَإِنِ اسْتُعْمِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَبْدٌ حَبَشِيٌّ كَأَنَّ رَأْسَهُ زَبِيبَةٌ» . رَوَاهُ البُخَارِيّ
