Authentic hadith of Sahih al-Bukhari Sahih al-Bukhari 5352

Narrator:Abu Hurayrah

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏

قَالَ اللَّهُ أَنْفِقْ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ أُنْفِقْ عَلَيْكَ ‏"

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said:

"Allah said: 'O son of Adam, spend, and I will spend on you.'"

Explanation

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informs that Allah Almighty said: O son of Adam, spend - the obligatory and recommended spending - and I will increase your sustenance and give you compensation for that and bless it for you.

Lessons

  • The Hadīth urges us to give charity and spend in the cause of Allah.
  • Charitable spending is one of the greatest means for multiplying one's sustenance, attaining blessing therein, and getting compensated by Allah for what was spent.
  • This is one of the Hadīths the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) narrated about his Lord. They are called qudsi or divine Hadīths, and their wordings and meanings are attributed to Allah. However, qudsi Hadīths do not possess the traits of the Qur'an that distinguish it from anything else, like reciting it as a form of worship, getting purified for it, presenting it as a challenge, its miraculousness, etc.

Explanation in Arabic

يَخْبِرُ النبيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أنَّ الله تبارك وتعالى قال: أنفق يا ابن آدم -من النفقات الواجبة والمستحبة- أُوَسِّعْ عليك وآتِك عِوَضًا عن ذلك وأباركْ لك فيه.

  • الحث على الصدقة والإنفاق في سبيل الله.
  • الإنفاق في وجوه الخير من أعظم أسباب البركة في الرزق ومضاعفته، وإخلاف الله على العبد ما أنفقه.
  • هذا الحديث مما يرويه النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عن ربه، ويسمى بالحديث القدسي أو الإلهي، وهو الذي لفظه ومعناه من الله، غير أنه ليست فيه خصائص القرآن التي امتاز بها عما سواه، من التعبد بتلاوته والطهارة له والتحدي والإعجاز وغير ذلك.

قَوْله ( حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ) هُوَ اِبْن أَبِي أُوَيْس , وَهَذَا الْحَدِيث لَيْسَ فِي " الْمُوَطَّأ " وَهُوَ عَلَى شَرْط شَيْخنَا فِي " تَقْرِيب الْأَسَانِيد " , لَكِنَّهُ لَمَّا لَمْ يَكُنْ فِي " الْمُوَطَّأ " لَمْ يُخْرِجهُ كَأَنْظَارِهِ , لَكِنَّهُ أَخْرَجَهُ مِنْ رِوَايَة هَمَّام عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة وَقَدْ أَخْرَجَهُ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيّ مِنْ طَرِيق عَبْد الرَّحْمَن بْن الْقَاسِم , وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ مِنْ طَرِيق عَبْد اللَّه بْن يُوسُف كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ مَالِك. قَوْله ( قَالَ اللَّه أَنْفِقْ يَا اِبْن آدَم أُنْفِقْ عَلَيْك ) أَنْفِقْ الْأُولَى بِفَتْحِ أَوَّله وَسُكُون الْقَاف بِصِيغَةِ الْأَمْر بِالْإِنْفَاقِ , وَالثَّانِيَة بِضَمِّ أَوَّله وَسُكُون الْقَاف عَلَى الْجَوَاب بِصِيغَةِ الْمُ…
