Sunan Abu Dawud 3705

The Prophet [SAW] forbade (mixtures of) Al-Balh and dried dates, and of raisins and dried dates.

نَهَى عَنِ الْبَلَحِ وَالتَّمْرِ وَالزَّبِيبِ وَالتَّمْرِ‏.‏

The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) forbade mixing of raisins and dried dates: and unripe dates and fresh dates.

يُنْتَبَذَ الزَّبِيبُ وَالتَّمْرُ جَمِيعًا وَنَهَى أَنْ يُنْتَبَذَ الْبُسْرُ وَالرُّطَبُ جَمِيعًا ‏.‏

Narrated by Jābir ibn ‘Abdullāh + 8 other versions

“Do not combine fresh dates and unripe dates, or raisins and dates; rather make Nabidh with each one of them on its own.”*

"‏ لاَ تَجْمَعُوا بَيْنَ الرُّطَبِ وَالزَّهْوِ وَلاَ بَيْنَ الزَّبِيبِ وَالتَّمْرِ وَانْبِذُوا كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا عَلَى حِدَتِهِ ‏"

Narrated by Abu Qatāda + 7 other versions

Ibn 'Abbas reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) forbade the mixing of dates and grapes together, and mixing of unripe dates and ripe dates together (for preparing Nabidh), and he wrote to the people of Jurash (in Yemen) forbidding them to prepare the mixture of dates and grapes.

أَنْ يُخْلَطَ التَّمْرُ وَالزَّبِيبُ جَمِيعًا وَأَنْ يُخْلَطَ الْبُسْرُ وَالتَّمْرُ جَمِيعًا وَكَتَبَ إِلَى أَهْلِ جُرَشَ يَنْهَاهُمْ عَنْ خَلِيطِ التَّمْرِ وَالزَّبِيبِ ‏

Narrated by Ibn ‘Abbās + 4 other versions

Abu Sa'id reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) prohibited that fresh dates and grapes be mixed together and that fresh dates and unripe dates be mixed together.

عَنِ التَّمْرِ وَالزَّبِيبِ أَنْ يُخْلَطَ بَيْنَهُمَا وَعَنِ التَّمْرِ وَالْبُسْرِ أَنْ يُخْلَطَ بَيْنَهُمَا ‏.‏

Prepare Nabidh from each one of them separately.

عَنِ الزَّبِيبِ وَالتَّمْرِ وَالْبُسْرِ وَالتَّمْرِ وَقَالَ ‏"‏ يُنْبَذُ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا عَلَى حِدَتِهِ ‏"

Do not mix fresh dates and dry dates, and grapes and fresh dates for preparing Nabidh.

لاَ تَجْمَعُوا بَيْنَ الرُّطَبِ وَالْبُسْرِ وَبَيْنَ الزَّبِيبِ وَالتَّمْرِ نَبِيذًا ‏"
