حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ عُمَارَةَ، حَدَّثَتْنِي رَيْطَةُ، عَنْ كَبْشَةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، قَالَتْ سَأَلْتُ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ مَا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَنْهَى عَنْهُ قَالَتْ كَانَ

يَنْهَانَا أَنْ نَعْجُمَ النَّوَى طَبْخًا أَوْ نَخْلِطَ الزَّبِيبَ وَالتَّمْرَ ‏.‏

Narrated Umm Salamah, Ummul Mu'minin:

Kabshah, daughter of AbuMaryam, asked Umm Salamah (Allah be pleased with her): What did the Prophet (ﷺ) prohibit? She replied: He forbade us to boil dates so much so that the kernels are spoiled, and to mix raisins and dried dates.

Al-Azimabadi — Awn al-Ma'bud

( حَدَّثَتْنِي رَيْطَة ) : هِيَ بِنْت حُرَيْث لَا تُعْرَف مِنْ السَّادِسَة , كَذَا فِي التَّقْرِيب ( كَانَ يَنْهَانَا أَنْ نَعْجُمَ النَّوَى طَبْخًا ) : أَيْ نُنْضِج. قَالَ فِي الْمَجْمَع : هُوَ أَنْ يُبَالِغ فِي نُضْجه حَتَّى تَتَفَتَّتَ وَتَفْسُد قُوَّته الَّتِي يَصْلُح مَعَهَا لِلْغَنَمِ. وَالْعَجَم بِالْحَرَكَةِ النَّوَى مِنْ عَجَمْت النَّوَى إِذَا لُكْته فِي فِيك. وَقِيلَ : الْمَعْنَى أَنَّ التَّمْر إِذَا طُبِخَ لِتُؤْخَذ حَلَاوَته وَطُبِخَ عَفْوًا حَتَّى لَا يَبْلُغ الطَّبْخ النَّوَى وَلَا يُؤَثِّر فِيهِ تَأْثِيرَ مَنْ يَعْجُمُهُ أَيْ يَلُوكُهُ وَيَعَضّهُ لِأَنَّهُ يُفْسِد طَعْم الْحَلَاوَة أَوْ لِأَنَّهُ قُوت الدَّوَاجِن فَلَا يُنْضَجُ لِئَلَّا تَذْهَب طُعْمَتُهُ اِنْتَهَى. قَالَ الْم…

Ibn 'Abbas reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) forbade the mixing of dates and grapes together, and mixing of unripe dates and ripe dates together (for preparing Nabidh), and he wrote to the people of Jurash (in Yemen) forbidding them to prepare the mixture of dates and grapes.
