حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، وَمُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ الرَّجُلُ أَهْلَهُ طُرُوقًا

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) disapproved that a man should come to his family during the night (after returning from a journey).

Reported by Abu Dawud (No. 2776), Al-Bukhari (No. 5243) and Ahmad (No. 13676).

( طُرُوقًا ) : بِضَمِّ الطَّاء أَيْ لَيْلًا , وَكُلّ آتٍ فِي اللَّيْل فَهُوَ طَارِق. قَالَهُ النَّوَوِيّ وَفِي رِوَايَة لِلشَّيْخَيْنِ : " إِذَا أَطَالَ أَحَدكُمْ الْغَيْبَة فَلَا يَطْرُق أَهْله لَيْلًا " قَالَ الْمُنْذِرِيُّ وَأَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيّ وَمُسْلِم وَالنَّسَائِيُّ بِنَحْوِهِ.…

If one of you comes (back from a journey) at night. he should not enter his house as a night visitor (but should wait) until a woman whose husband has been away from house has removed the hair from her private parts and a woman with dishevelled hair has combed her hair.
