Before eating

الدعاء قبل الطعام

178 Authentic (sahih)

إِذَا أَكَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ طَعَاماً فَلْيَقُلْ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، فَإِنْ نَسِيَ فِي أَوَّلِهِ فَلْيَقُلْ بسمِ اللَّهِ فِي أَوَّلِهِ وَآخِرِهِ.

Bismi l-lāh
Bismi l-lāhi fī awwalihi wa ākhirih
Bismi l-lah
Bismi l-lahi fi awwalihi wa akhirih

When you are about to eat, you should say:(Bismil-lah.)and if you forget to say it before starting, then you should say (when you remember):In the name of Allah in it’s beginning and end.

مَنْ أَطْعَمَهُ اللَّهُ الطَّعَامَ فَلْيَقُلْ: اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ وَأَطْعِمْنَا خَيْراً مِنْهُ، وَمَنْ سَقَاهُ اللَّهُ لَبَناً فَلْيَقُلْ اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ وَزِدْنَا مِنْهُ.

Allāhumma bārik lanā fīh, wa aṭʿimnā khayran minh
Allāhumma bārik lanā fīhi wa zidnā minh
Allahumma barik lana fih, wa at‘imna khayran minh
Allahumma barik lana fihi wa zidna minh

Whomever Allah feeds, should say:(O Allah, bless it for us and feed us better than it.) and whomever Allah gives milk to drink should say:(O Allah, bless it for usand give us more of it.)

180 Authentic (sahih)

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنِي هَذَا، وَرَزَقَنِيهِ، مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلاَ قُوَّةٍ.

Al-ḥamdu li-l-lāhi l-ladhī aṭʿamanī hādhā wa razaqanīhi min ghayri ḥawlin minnī wa lā quwwaAl-hamdu li-l-lahi l-ladhi at‘amani hadha wa razaqanihi min ghayri hawlin minni wa la quwwa

All praise is for Allah who fed me this and provided it for me without any might nor power from myself.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ حَمْداً كَثِيراً طَيِّباً مُبَارَكاً فِيهِ، غَيْرَ [مَكْفِيٍّ وَلاَ ] مُوَدَّعٍ، وَلاَ مُسْتَغْنَىً عَنْهُ رَبَّنَا.

Al-ḥamdu li-l-lāhi ḥamdan kathīran ṭayyiban mubārakan fīh, ghayra [makfiyyin wa lā] muwaddaʿin, wa lā mustaghnan ʿanhu rabbanāAl-hamdu li-l-lahi hamdan kathiran tayyiban mubarakan fih, ghayra [makfiyyin wa la] muwadda‘in, wa la mustaghnan ‘anhu rabbana

(Allah be praised with an abundant beautiful blessed praise, a never-ending praise, a praise which we will never bid farewell to and an indispensable praise, He is our Lord.)(There are other views as regards to the understanding of this supplication, from them: Allah be praised with an abundant beautiful blessed praise. He is The One Who is sufficient, feeds and is not fed. The One Who is longed for, along with that which is with Him and The One Who is needed, He is our Lord.)

دعاء الضيف لصاحب الطعام

182 Authentic (sahih)

اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِيمَا رَزَقْتَهُم، وَاغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَارْحَمْهُمْ.

Allāhumma bārik lahum fī mā razaqtahum wa ghfir lahum wa rḥamhumAllahumma barik lahum fi ma razaqtahum wa ghfir lahum wa rhamhum

O Allah, bless for them, that which You have provided them, forgive them and have mercy upon them.

التعريض بالدعاء لطلب الطعام أو الشراب

183 Authentic (sahih)

اللَّهُمَّ أَطْعِمْ مَنْ أَطْعَمَنِي، وَاسْقِ مَنْ سَقَانِي.

Allāhumma aṭʿim man aṭʿamanī wa sqi man saqānīAllahumma at‘im man at‘amani wa sqi man saqani

O Allah, feed him who fed me, and provide with drink him who provided me with drink.

Upon seeing the early or premature fruit

الدعاء عند رؤية باكورة الثمر

187 Authentic (sahih)

اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي ثَمَرِنَا، وَبَارِكْ لَنَا فِي مَدِينَتِنَا، وَبَارِكْ لَنَا فِي صَاعِنَا، وَبَارِكْ لَنَا فِي مُدِّنَا.

Allāhumma bārik lanā fī thamarinā, wa bārik lanā fī madīnatinā, wa bārik lanā fī ṣāʿinā, wa bārik lanā fī muddināAllahumma barik lana fi thamarina, wa barik lana fi madinatina, wa barik lana fi sa‘ina, wa barik lana fi muddina

(O Allah, bless our fruit for us, bless our town for us, bless our saʿ for us and bless our mudd for us.)(A saʿ is equivalent to four mudds and a mudd is equivalent to a dry measure of an average man’s two palms.)
