A prophet chosen by Allah and sent to his people, Noah (Nuh) was called a liar by their notables. The verses relate his complaint to his Lord, the command to build the ark, his call to his son, the rescue of those with him in the ark and the punishment of his people, who became an example and a lesson.
Verses gathered from a topical index of the Quran, in Mushaf order; every verse is quoted in full.

So resolve upon your plan and [call upon] your associates. Then let not your plan be obscure to you. Then carry it out upon me and do not give me respite.
They said, "O Noah, you have disputed [i.e., opposed] us and been frequent in dispute of us. So bring us what you threaten us, if you should be of the truthful."
And We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them a thousand years minus fifty years, and the flood seized them while they were wrongdoers.
