سورة يوسف، الآية ١١
قَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَبَانَا مَا لَكَ لَا تَأْمَ۫نَّا عَلَىٰ يُوسُفَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَنَٰصِحُونَ ١١
qālū yāabānā mā laka lā tamannā ʿalā yūsufa wa-innā lahu lanāṣiḥūna
They said, "O our father, why do you not entrust us with Joseph while indeed, we are to him sincere counselors?

When they agreed to get rid of him, they said to their father, Jacob: O our father, why do not you trust us with Joseph? We have compassion for him and we will take care of him against anything that might harm him. We want good for him, so we will protect and look after him until he comes back to you safely. So, what stops you from sending him with us?
They said, “O our father, why do you not trust us with Joseph5, although we truly care for him?
[5] They formulated their challenging scheme carefully, in order to throw their father off guard.
They said: "O our father! Why do you not trust us with Yûsuf (Joseph) though we are indeed his well-wishers?"
They said: O our father! Why wilt thou not trust us with Joseph, when lo! we are good friends to him?
They said: "O our father! why dost thou not trust us with Joseph,- seeing we are indeed his sincere well-wishers?
They said: O our father! what reason have you that you do not trust in us with respect to Yusuf? And most surely we are his sincere well-wishers:
They said, "O our father, how is it with you, that you do not keep Yusuf (Joseph) in our custody? And surely we are indeed his (honest) advisers.

وَلَمَّا فَتَحُوا۟ مَتَٰعَهُمْ وَجَدُوا۟ بِضَٰعَتَهُمْ رُدَّتْ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَبَانَا مَا نَبْغِى هَٰذِهِۦ بِضَٰعَتُنَا رُدَّتْ إِلَيْنَا وَنَمِيرُ أَهْلَنَا وَنَحْفَظُ أَخَانَا وَنَزْدَادُ كَيْلَ بَعِيرٍ ذَٰلِكَ كَيْلٌ يَسِيرٌ
And when they opened their baggage, they found their merchandise returned to them. They said, "O our father, what [more] could we desire? This is our merchandise returned to us. And we will obtain supplies [i.e., food] for our family and protect our brother and obtain an increase of a camel's load; that is an easy measurement."
