Tafsir of verse 66
Al-Mukhtasar
If I had willed to take away their sight I would have done so and they will not be able to see, just as I sealed their mouths and they were not able to speak. They would have then rushed towards the path to cross over it into Paradise, but it is unlikely that they will cross over when their sight is gone.
If We willed, We could have taken away their sight, so they would rush to find their way, but then how could they see?
And if it had been Our Will, We would surely have wiped out (blinded) their eyes, so that they would struggle for the Path, how then would they see?
And had We willed, We verily could have quenched their eyesight so that they should struggle for the way. Then how could they have seen?
If it had been our Will, We could surely have blotted out their eyes; then should they have run about groping for the Path, but how could they have seen?
And if We please We would certainly put out their eyes, then they would run about groping for the way, but how should they see?
And if We had (so) decided, We would indeed have obliterated their eyes. Then they would race with each other to the Path, yet however would they behold (it)?
