And nothing has prevented Us from sending signs [i.e., miracles] except that the former peoples denied them. And We gave Thamūd the she-camel as a visible sign, but they wronged her. And We send not the signs except as a warning.

Tafsir of verse 59
Al-Mukhtasar
And I did not stop sending tangible miracles which the idolaters requested, such as reviving the dead, except because I had sent them to previous nations but they rejected them. I had given Thamud a great, clear sign, namely the camel, but they rejected and so I hastened their punishment. And I do not send miracles at the hands of the Messengers except as a warning for their people, so that they believe.
Nothing prevents Us from sending signs except that the earlier people denied them53. We gave Thamūd the she-camel as a clear sign, but they wrongfully rejected her54. We do not send signs except as a warning.
Notes
[53] So that the pagans of Makkah do do not face the consequences of the earlier nations.
[54] i.e., they committed an injustice by hamstringing the she-camel.
And nothing stops Us from sending the Ayât (proofs, evidence, signs) but that the people of old denied them. And We sent the she-camel to Thamûd as a clear sign, but they did her wrong. And We sent not the signs except to warn, and to make them afraid (of destruction).
Naught hindereth Us from sending portents save that the folk of old denied them. And We gave Thamud the she-camel - a clear portent save to warn.
And We refrain from sending the signs, only because the men of former generations treated them as false: We sent the she-camel to the Thamud to open their eyes, but they treated her wrongfully: We only send the Signs by way of terror (and warning from evil).
And nothing could have hindered Us that We should send signs except that the ancients rejected them; and We gave to Samood the she-camel-- a manifest sign-- but on her account they did injustice, and We do not send signs but to make (men) fear.
And nothing prevented Us from sending the signs except that the earliest (people) cried lies to them; and We brought Thamud the she-camel (as) (a thing) beheld, (i.e., for them to behold) yet they did an injustice regarding her. And in no way do We send the signs except for frightening.
