Tafsir of verse 35
Al-Mukhtasar
Give full measure when you measure for others and do not cheat them. Weigh with an accurate scale that does not diminish or undervalue anything. That giving of full weight and measure is better for you in this world and the Hearafter, than giving short measure or weight.
Give full measure when you measure, and weigh with accurate scales; that is fair and best in the end33.
Notes
[33] Fair dealing is best, for it brings blessing, psychological calm, and reward in the Hereafter.
And give full measure when you measure, and weigh with a balance that is straight. That is good (advantageous) and better in the end.
Fill the measure when ye measure, and weigh with a right balance; that is meet, and better in the end.
Give full measure when ye measure, and weigh with a balance that is straight: that is the most fitting and the most advantageous in the final determination.
And give full measure when you measure out, and weigh with a true balance; this is fair and better in the end.
And fill up the measure when you measure, and weigh with the straight equitableness; that is more charitable and fairest in interpretation (Or: determination, outcome).
O you who have believed, obey Allāh and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allāh and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allāh and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result.
