Text of verse 17:108

وَيَقُولُونَ سُبْحَٰنَ رَبِّنَآ إِن كَانَ وَعْدُ رَبِّنَا لَمَفْعُولًا ۝١٠٨

Transliteration

wayaqūlūna sub'ḥāna rabbinā in kāna waʿdu rabbinā lamafʿūlan

Translation

And they say, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, the promise of our Lord has been fulfilled."

Al-Mukhtasar

And they say in their prostration: Our Lord will never break His promise. The promise He made of sending Muhammad (peace be upon him) is going to happen. Surely, our Lord’s promise of this and other matters will definitely occur.

Tafsir of the whole Surah Al-Isra

Other translations of verse 108

and they say, “Glory be to our Lord. The promise of our Lord is bound to be fulfilled.”

And they say: "Glory be to our Lord! Truly, the Promise of our Lord must be fulfilled."

Saying: Glory to our Lord! Verily the promise of our Lord must be fulfilled.

"And they say: 'Glory to our Lord! Truly has the promise of our Lord been fulfilled!'"

And they say: Glory be to our Lord! most surely the promise of our Lord was to be fulfilled.

And they say, All Extolment be to our Lord! Decidedly the promise of our Lord has indeed been performed!"
