Tafsir of verse 2
Al-Mukhtasar
To Him alone belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He gives life to whoever He wishes to give life to, and causes death to whoever He wishes to cause death to. He is capable of everything; nothing is outside His ability.
Indeed, to Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; He gives life and causes death. And you have not besides Allāh any protector or any helper.
So observe the effects of the mercy of Allāh - how He gives life to the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed, that [same one] will give life to the dead, and He is over all things competent.
Or have they taken protectors [or allies] besides Him? But Allāh - He is the Protector, and He gives life to the dead, and He is over all things competent.
