Tafsir of verse 62
Al-Mukhtasar
It is Allah who made the night and day follow and replace each other, for anyone who wishes to take a lesson from Allah’s signs and come onto the right path, or wishes to be grateful to Allah for His favours.
It is He Who made the night and the day to follow each other so that everyone who wishes may reflect or become grateful.
And He it is Who has put the night and the day in succession, for such who desires to remember or desires to show his gratitude.
And He it is Who hath appointed night and day in succession, for him who desireth to remember, or desireth thankfulness.
And it is He Who made the Night and the Day to follow each other: for such as have the will to celebrate His praises or to show their gratitude.
And He it is Who made the night and the day to follow each other for him who desires to be mindful or desires to be thankful.
And He is the One Who has made the night and day-time a succession for whomever is willing to constantly remember (Or: for whomever He wills to be mindful; or: whomever He wills) or whomever is willing to give constant thanks.
Indeed, your Lord is Allāh, who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allāh, Lord of the worlds.
