Tafsir of verse 107
Al-Mukhtasar
So Moses threw his stick and it changed into a great snake, clear for all to see.
So he threw his staff, and it suddenly became a real serpent42.
Notes
[42] As a miracle from Allah. In ancient Egypt, the cobra snake, known as the uraeus, was used as a symbol of sovereignty and divine authority worn on the headdresses and crowns.
Then [Mûsâ (Moses)] threw his stick and behold! it was a serpent, manifest!
Then he flung down his staff and lo! it was a serpent manifest;
Then (Moses) threw his rod, and behold! it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)!
So he threw his rod, then lo! it was a clear serpent.
So he cast his staff, and only then was it an evident serpent;
