Tafsir of verse 102
Al-Mukhtasar
O you who have faith in Allah and follow His Messenger, be mindful of Allah as you have been commanded, by following what He instructs you to do, and by staying away from what He prohibits you from doing; and be thankful for His favour, holding firmly to the religion He has given you, so that when you die, you die surrendering in devotion to Him.
O you who believe, fear Allah as He should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims.
O you who believe! Fear Allâh (by doing all that He has ordered and by abstaining from all that He has forbidden) as He should be feared. [Obey Him, be thankful to Him, and remember Him always], and die not except in a state of Islâm [as Muslims (with complete submission to Allâh)].
O ye who believe! Observe your duty to Allah with right observance, and die not save as those who have surrendered (unto Him)
O ye who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam.
O you who believe! be careful of (your duty to) Allah with the care which is due to Him, and do not die unless you are Muslims.
O you have believed, be pious to Allah with His true piety, and definitely do not die except as Muslims.
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) taught us the sermon of need: "Praise be to Allah. We seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge with Him from the evils of our souls. Whoever Allah guides, none can lead astray, and whoever Allah leads astray, none can guide…
So fear Allāh as much as you are able and listen and obey and spend [in the way of Allāh]; it is better for your selves. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.
