"Indeed, the dearest of your names to Allah is ‘Abdullah and ‘Abdur-Rahmān."
إِنَّ أَحَبَّ أَسْمَائِكُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ "
عَبْد الْأَحَد
Boy Arabic origin ʿAbd al-Aḥad
Name of Allah“Servant of the One”
The Prophet ﷺ said: “The most beloved of your names to Allah are ʿAbd Allah and ʿAbd al-Rahman” (Muslim 2132), and scholars add to them all names formed on a name of Allah. Al-Ahad is not in the list of 99 names reported by al-Tirmidhi, but Allah names Himself so in the Quran (112:1), and Bilal repeated it under torture: “Ahad, Ahad”.
ʿAbd al-Ahad joins ʿabd with al-Ahad, “the One”, from the root ʾ-h-d: the One in His essence, indivisible and without equal. The name opens Surah al-Ikhlas: “Say: He is Allah, the One” (112:1). It is mostly given in South Asia (Abdul Ahad).
This name is built on a name of Allah found in the Quran; its verses are on the page of that name.
All the words of the root أ ح د in the Quran (85 occurrences)
