حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم

أَفْطَرَ بِعَرَفَةَ وَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَيْهِ أُمُّ الْفَضْلِ بِلَبَنٍ فَشَرِبَ ‏

Ibn Abbas narrated:

"The Prophet broke (the fast) of Arafah, Umm Fadl sent him some milk to drink."

Al-Mubarakfuri — Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi

قَوْلُهُ : ( أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ) بِضَمِّ الْعَيْنِ الْمُهْمَلَةِ وَفَتْحِ اللَّامِ وَتَشْدِيدِ التَّحْتِيَّةِ. قَوْلُهُ : ( وَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَيْهِ أُمُّ الْفَضْلِ ) أَيْ بِنْتُ الْحَارِثِ وَهِيَ اِمْرَأَةُ الْعَبَّاسِ. قَوْلُهُ : ( وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ) أَخْرَجَهُ أَحْمَدُ وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ بِلَفْظِ : نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ بِعَرَفَاتٍ , أَخْرَجَهُ أَحْمَدُ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالنَّسَائِيُّ وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ وَالْحَاكِمُ وَالْبَيْهَقِيُّ وَفِيهِ مَهْدِيٌّ الْهَجَرِيُّ وَهُوَ مَجْهُولٌ , وَرَوَاهُ الْعُقَيْلِيُّ فِي الضُّعَفَاءِ مِنْ طَرِيقِهِ وَقَالَ لَا يُتَابَعُ عَلَيْهِ. قَالَ الْعُقَيْلِيُّ : وَقَدْ رُو…

On the day of 'Arafah some people near her argued whether the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was fasting, some saying that he was, and others saying that he was not. I, therefore, sent him a cup of milk while he was observing the halt at 'Arafah on his camel, and he drank it.

The people doubted whether the Prophet (ﷺ) was fasting on the day of `Arafat or not, so I sent milk while he was standing at `Arafat, he drank it and the people were looking at him.

النَّاسَ، شَكُّوا فِي صِيَامِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ، فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَيْهِ بِحِلاَبٍ وَهْوَ وَاقِفٌ فِي الْمَوْقِفِ، فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ، وَالنَّاسُ يَنْظُرُونَ‏.‏

The people doubted whether Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was fasting or the Day of `Arafat or not. So I sent a cup containing milk to him and he drank it.

شَكَّ النَّاسُ فِي صِيَامِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ، فَأَرْسَلْتُ إِلَيْهِ بِإِنَاءٍ فِيهِ لَبَنٌ فَشَرِبَ‏.‏

Authentic Sahih al-Bukhari 5618

(daughter of Al-Harith) that she sent a bowl of milk to the Prophet (ﷺ) while he was standing (at `Arafat) in the afternoon of the Day of `Arafat. He took it in his hands and drank it. Narrated Abu Nadr: The Prophet was on the back of his camel.

أَنَّهَا أَرْسَلَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِقَدَحِ لَبَنٍ، وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ عَشِيَّةَ عَرَفَةَ، فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِهِ فَشَرِبَهُ‏.‏

that the people were in doubt whether the Prophet (ﷺ) was fasting on the Day of `Arafat or not, so a (wooden) drinking vessel full of milk was sent to him, and he drank it.

أَنَّهُمْ شَكُّوا فِي صَوْمِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ، فَبُعِثَ إِلَيْهِ بِقَدَحٍ مِنْ لَبَنٍ فَشَرِبَهُ‏.‏

Authentic Sahih al-Bukhari 1658

The people doubted whether the Prophet (ﷺ) was observing the fast on the Day of `Arafat, so I sent something for him to drink and he drank it.

فَبَعَثْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِشَرَابٍ فَشَرِبَهُ‏.‏
