Narrator:Umm al-Fadl bint al-Hārith

حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ، عَنْ عُمَيْرٍ، مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ،

أَنَّهَا أَرْسَلَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِقَدَحِ لَبَنٍ، وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ عَشِيَّةَ عَرَفَةَ، فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِهِ فَشَرِبَهُ‏.‏

Narrated Um Al-Fadl:

(daughter of Al-Harith) that she sent a bowl of milk to the Prophet (ﷺ) while he was standing (at `Arafat) in the afternoon of the Day of `Arafat. He took it in his hands and drank it. Narrated Abu Nadr: The Prophet was on the back of his camel.

Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani — Fath al-Bari

قَوْله : ( حَدَّثَنَا مَالِك بْن إِسْمَاعِيل ) هُوَ أَبُو غَسَّان النَّهْدِيّ الْكُوفِيّ مِنْ كِبَار شُيُوخ الْبُخَارِيّ , وَقَوْله : بَعْد ذَلِكَ " زَادَ مَالِك إِلَخْ " هُوَ اِبْن أَنَس وَالْمُرَاد أَنَّ مَالِكًا تَابَعَ عَبْد الْعَزِيز بْن أَبِي سَلَمَة عَلَى رِوَايَته هَذَا الْحَدِيث عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْر وَقَالَ فِي رِوَايَته " شَرِبَ وَهُوَ وَاقِف عَلَى بَعِيره " وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَتْ هَذِهِ الرِّوَايَة تَامَّة فِي كِتَاب الصِّيَام مَعَ بَقِيَّة شَرْح الْحَدِيث.…

On the day of 'Arafah some people near her argued whether the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was fasting, some saying that he was, and others saying that he was not. I, therefore, sent him a cup of milk while he was observing the halt at 'Arafah on his camel, and he drank it.

The people doubted whether the Prophet (ﷺ) was fasting on the day of `Arafat or not, so I sent milk while he was standing at `Arafat, he drank it and the people were looking at him.

النَّاسَ، شَكُّوا فِي صِيَامِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ، فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَيْهِ بِحِلاَبٍ وَهْوَ وَاقِفٌ فِي الْمَوْقِفِ، فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ، وَالنَّاسُ يَنْظُرُونَ‏.‏
