حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏

"‏ إِذَا أَمَّ أَحَدُكُمُ النَّاسَ فَلْيُخَفِّفْ فَإِنَّ فِيهِمُ الصَّغِيرَ وَالْكَبِيرَ وَالضَّعِيفَ وَالْمَرِيضَ فَإِذَا صَلَّى وَحْدَهُ فَلْيُصَلِّ كَيْفَ شَاءَ ‏"

Abu Hurairah narrated that :

the Prophet said: "When one of you leads the people in prayer then let him be brief, for indeed here are among them the young and the old, the weak and the ill. When one of you prays alone, then let him pray as he wishes."

قَوْلُهُ : ( حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ) بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْخُزَامِيُّ الْمَدَنِيُّ رَوَى عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ فَأَكْثَرَ وَعَنْهُ يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى وَقُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ رَجُلٌ صَالِحٌ وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ مَا بِحَدِيثِهِ بَأْسٌ وَقَالَ النَّسَائِيُّ لَيْسَ بِالْقَوِيِّ , كَذَا فِي الْخُلَاصَةِ وَقَالَ الْحَافِظُ ثِقَةٌ لَهُ غَرَائِبُ " فَلْيُخَفِّفْ " قَالَ اِبْنُ دَقِيقِ الْعِيدِ التَّطْوِيلُ وَالتَّخْفِيفُ مِنْ الْأُمُورِ الْإِضَافِيَّةِ فَقَدْ يَكُونُ الشَّيْءُ خَفِيفًا بِالنِّسْبَةِ إِلَى عَادَةِ قَوْمٍ طَوِيلًا بِالنِّسْبَةِ لِعَادَةِ آخَرِينَ , قَالَ وَقَوْلُ الْفُقَهَاءِ لَا يَزِيدُ الْإِمَامُ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ عَلَى ثَلَاثِ تَسْبِيحَات…

The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) said: When any one of you leads the people in prayer, he should be brief for among them are the young and the aged, the weak and the sick. But when one of you prays by himself, he may (prolong) as he likes.

إِذَا أَمَّ أَحَدُكُمُ النَّاسَ فَلْيُخَفِّفْ فَإِنَّ فِيهِمُ الصَّغِيرَ وَالْكَبِيرَ وَالضَّعِيفَ وَالْمَرِيضَ فَإِذَا صَلَّى وَحْدَهُ فَلْيُصَلِّ كَيْفَ شَاءَ ‏"
